Installing
"That folder has no Data\dbc.MPQ"
Point it at the main WoW folder, the one that contains Data, not at Data itself.
It has to be the English 1.12.1 client (build 5875).
The disc conversion failed
It has to be the US disc, SCUS-94426, as .bin/.cue or .iso. The European and Japanese versions won't work.
"Windows protected your PC"
That's SmartScreen. Click More info, then Run anyway. The game isn't signed with a paid certificate.
I picked the wrong WoW folder or disc image
Delete kartcraft.cfg in the game folder and start again. It asks for both.
In the game
My kart is stuck
Type /unstuck. In a race it puts you back at your last checkpoint.
I'm stuck in a race I'm not in
Type /leaverace (or /lr), or use Leave race in the minimap button's menu.
The Race Finder never finds a race
A race needs at least two players on the same course. Tick Any course or more zones to match sooner, and bring a friend.
I can't pick the Speed engine
Engine classes open with your Karting skill: Balanced at 75, Acceleration at 150, Speed at 225. Bank turbo chains to raise it. See Karting, the profession.
Do I need DS4Windows for my PlayStation controller?
No. PS5, PS4 and Xbox controllers work natively, with no emulator. The keyboard keeps working with a controller plugged in.

I forgot my password
There's no email, so there's no reset. Ask whoever runs the server.
"The name is taken"
Account names are unique on the server. Pick another on the sign-up page.
Can I use my account from another server?
No. Accounts are per server. Make one here; it takes a minute.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. No subscription, no shop. You need your own copies of WoW 1.12.1 and Crash Team Racing.
Why do I need my own CTR disc?
The kart, its sounds, the HUD and the music are read off your disc on your PC. No CTR content is distributed, and none of WoW's.
Does it change my WoW install?
No. The game only reads WoW's Data folder and never writes into it. Its own files stay in the World of Kartcraft folder.
Does it run on Mac?
Not at the moment. Windows 10 and 11 work, and Linux and Steam Deck through Proton (how).
Is this official?
No. It's an unofficial fan project, not affiliated with Blizzard, Sony, Activision or Naughty Dog. The source is open under the GPL-3.0.
